Grace E. L. Greenwell
Kentucky Trial Lawyer
Grace Greenwell is a trial attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families whose lives have been changed by injury, abuse, negligence, or unfair treatment.
Her practice focuses on representing people harmed by powerful individuals, corporations, institutions, and systems—including cases involving harms to children and young people, employment-related misconduct, medical negligence, consumer protection, and catastrophic personal injury.
Grace’s work is rooted in the belief that litigation can be a tool for accountability, dignity, and change. She supports clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, implementing a trauma-informed approach.
Background & Practice
Before representing individuals and families, Grace practiced as a business litigator at a large regional firm, a boutique business litigation firm, and as in-house counsel for a global manufacturing company. She also has experience as a federal law clerk. That background gives her meaningful insight into how companies, insurers, institutions, and courts evaluate claims, risk, and litigation strategy. Grace now uses that perspective to advocate effectively for people who have been harmed.
Grace is comfortable trying cases in both state and federal court. She has gone to trial as both plaintiff’s counsel and defense counsel, giving her a practical understanding of how cases are built, defended, and presented to judges and juries. As a result of her success at trial, Grace was named a 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Attorney.
While Grace’s work often involves holding corporations and institutions accountable, she also recognizes the important role of Kentucky’s small businesses and business owners. A portion of her practice is dedicated to representing small businesses and entrepreneurs who need practical, thoughtful legal support in disputes or other legal matters.
Grace’s commitment to advocacy began long before law school. As an undergraduate at Sewanee, her work contributed to the overhaul of the university’s sexual assault policies, which were later recognized as a model of best practice for other institutions. For that work, Grace received the highest honor awarded to a graduate for character and service to the community.
After college, Grace’s experience living in Mongolia led her to graduate study at the London School of Economics, where she focused on human rights and international law. Forever dedicated to Kentucky, she returned home to practice law and to represent people, families, and businesses in the community she loves. Grace is also dedicated to serving and building her community through monetary support, volunteer legal work, and efforts to foster and strengthen the legal profession.
Outside of work, Grace travels extensively, grows vegetables and flowers, and is happiest serving a new recipe for friends and family. When home in Kentucky, Grace can be found exploring with her hound dog by her side. Whether abroad or close to home, she values community, connection, learning, and life grounded in purpose in and beyond the courtroom.
